funny or STILL sad?

Hahaha, YES!
I would say a lethal dose of both funny and sad, only because most of it is undoubtedly true.

I'm in a bad mood today I know, but I don't get it. Is it being sarcastic? Some of these I think 'hello sarcasm' and others I think '...that's a good thing.'

I'm confused.

now, now — actually, largely untrue at this point, although possibly true in 1985 when this work was created.

a lot of it still fits. unless you're a skinny, really hot, hipster girl artist who draws naked girls or something sexually suggestive (and/or uses her sexuality to get places and pretends not to because it's so not like that anymore).
gee that sounds really bitter.
but c'mon, not true anymore? really?

thanks for the comments everyone ;)

just to clarify, this work is from 1988. i was recently reminded of it on my visit to the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario for those of you outside of Canada). it struck me that even after 20 years this is still relevant (and of course the poster was meant to be cutting and sarcastic). find out more here: http://www.guerillagirls.com

love the guerillagirls! thanks for posting that poster!!!

is it better to be known as a 'woman artist' or an artist who happens to be a woman?
